A minute’s silence in memory of the late Hamed BAKAYOKO, former Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire who passed away on March 10, 2021, was observed by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Sani YAYA as he opened the meeting on March 15.
The Council will decide on the agenda of the 22nd ordinary session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government to be held on March 25 via videoconference. This session will be chaired by H.E. Mr. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, current Chairman of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of WAEMU.
The President of the WAEMU Commission Abdallah BOUREIMA took part in the meeting from the premises of the BCEAO National Agency in Ouagadougou together with the Burkinabe Ministers in charge of Finance Lassane KABORE and African Integration Maxime KONE as well as the WAEMU Commissioners.
Note that apart from the Ministers of the 8 Member States, on the basis of 2 per country, the Heads of the Union’s Institutions (WAEMU Commission, BCEAO, WADB, and CREPMEF) also participate in the sessions of the Statutory Council of Ministers.
